George Metanias

Founder & Chief Elevation Officer 

As a leadership advisor, George brings more than 30 years of success in various senior leadership positions ranging from Chief Operating Officer to Chief Executive Officer, including many successful start-ups and turnarounds. With a diverse leadership background and a proven ability to lead organizations through intensive change and growth, he easily connects with leaders and understands their challenges. George is an expert in assessing, analyzing and creating strategies to refine and focus a leader’s and team’s direction and performance. He understands the importance motivating and improving the performance of others through principled and purpose-driven leadership.  

As the leader of Elevate, George is a seasoned multi-disciplined leadership advisor with more than 30 years of diverse experience and successful growth in leadership and management roles. He has an outstanding record of accomplishments in several industries including healthcare, biotech, real estate, oil and gas, clean coal, telecommunications, insurance, pet care, restaurants and hospitality. 

George received his undergraduate degree from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami – School of Law in Coral Gables, Florida. He’s an avid mountain biker and skier. He has two sons, and a daughter and currently lives with his wife and children in Denver, Colorado. 


Curt Engelmann

CONSULTANT

Curt has over 25 years of corporate and consulting human resources management experience, having been both a consulting principal and a Human Resources executive in several large national organizations. 

Curt specializes in talent management solutions including candidate screening, recruitment and retention, career management, and employee retention. Curt has over 25 years of corporate and consulting experience, having been both a consulting principal and a Human Resources executive in large national organizations. 

Curt’s corporate experience includes 15 years with the General Mills Restaurant Group (currently Darden Restaurants, Inc.), where he was instrumental in developing the Compensation and Benefits functions during a period when the company grew from 3,000 to 42,000 employees. In his last position, VP of Compensation and Benefits, Curt was responsible for Compensation, Benefits, HRIS, Payroll, Employee Relocations and Personnel Records. 

Curt has extensive experience in the use of assessments for the selection and development of employees. He is certified to administer and interpret Behavioral, Motivational and Thinking Style assessment tools. Curt holds an MS degree in Management from Rollins College, a BS degree from the University of Denver, and a BA degree in Economics from Lake Forest College.
